I saw my first eggplant bloom on Wednesday. What a beautiful pale purple color. I planted three different varieties of eggplant, so it’ll be interesting to see whether their flowers are all the same or have slight variations. I didn’t label which variety was in which seed cell in the tray when I started, so it will be fun when each of them put out their first eggplants!

How exciting! I hope it sets fruit for you. Mine haven’t started to set buds yet but now that the weather has warmed up I have high hopes.

Oh, your eggplant flower is so pretty! I’m getting back to local when the farmer’s market opens in my town next weekend. Then my CSA share starts mid-June! I wish I had a yard, or a porch, or any part of my apartment that gets sun. Enjoy your gardening!
